Rita's No Lady

NEW UPDATE from Dov:

Rita is veering towards Victoria, Galveston has already issued a Mandatory Evacuation effective 5 PM tomorrow. And they are going to bus out any who can not leave. It is expected to hit at Cat 4 which will give us 100 mile an hour winds in Houston early Saturday AM. They expect Galveston, Clear Lake, the Gulf Coast, Freeport to sustain MAJOR flooding and the Radios are saying to get ready for a ton of water. Freeport is a small place but if it hits there at Cat 4 They have less chance than NOLA had so it is probably emptying as I key.

Sounds like Texas knows what to do. I hope the leaders in La. are taking notes.

UPDATE from Dov:

Galveston announced there will be a Mandatory Evac at 5 PM tomorrow and it is expected to hit at a Cat 4 and if it hits like that it is going to be the biggest Cane we have had in 40 years. " My Grandmother was an artist and she was On The Seawall taking pictures during Carla " she finally got the hell out of dodge.

Feds are recommending 72 hours worth of provisions, meds, food etc and to be prepared for power outages etc and are advising us that if this hits like is being predicted we have shipped to La, MY and Al so our Utility Co's are shorthanded and basically we are "on our own"

Stewart and Stevenson are out of Gensets , they are in La, Rick Perry ordered the Guard to return to Texas yesterday, Gas, Deisel etc is being filled up etc, and they advise "Leave Now" and beat the traffic jams. I have a lot of customers filling up their motorhomes, and planning on heading North tomorrow and Feds are suggesting shutting down businesses Friday if not Thursday and evacuating any Gulf Coast areas from La to Brownsville.

Hurricane Rita looks to become a Cat 3 hurricane when she enters the gulf, and some are predicting she may reach Cat 4 or 5 stage before making landfall again. Ya'll be careful out there and avoid the rush, make the necessary storm preparations early.
